A beloved husband, brother, uncle, teacher, coach and friend, Paul had an impact on the communities he was a part of and was a man of many diverse talents and interests. He could enjoy a day at Storybook Land or spend an afternoon studying the stock market. Paul was raised in Jim Thorpe, PA. Sports were always important to him and he was an outstanding athlete and a proud member of the 1962 Jim Thorpe state championship basketball team. Paul played baseball as well and reminisced about sharing the outfield with his brothers. His love for sports would stay with him throughout his life, earning him three inductions into the Jim Thorpe Sports Hall of Fame. Paul attended West Chester University where he met the love of his life, Mary. They shared 57 years together filled with laughter and wonderful memories. While they were working and teaching, they lived in Kennett Square, PA and later retired to Ventnor, NJ. Paul taught Physical Education at George Read Middle School in Delaware for many years. He was also the school's Athletic Director and coached multiple teams. Leading his 1991 basketball team to an undefeated championship season was a proud moment for Paul. He created a jump rope called Add-A-Rope to be used in schools, getting his inspiration from the Jump Rope for Heart event he held each year for The American Heart Association. Beyond his career in education, Paul embraced a wide range of roles, from selling electric and cable, to working as a valet parker and dealing Craps in the early years of the casinos in Atlantic City. He approached these various positions with an infectious energy and excitement. Paul was a lifelong Philadelphia sports fan, especially loving the Phillies. He loved cars and enjoyed researching them and advising his family on the best deals. Paul was an expert in real estate, and was always willing to lend a hand with family real estate transactions. Paul also had a strong interest in the stock market, and closely watched The Stock Station. He loved going to the casinos and enjoyed the perks he received there, often inviting friends and family to a show, a buffet or even a free overnight stay. In his later years, Paul became a dedicated member of the Ventnor Recreation Board, always eager to give back to the community. He was fond of working with kids at the Hooked on Fishing event at the Ventnor Pier. Paul was a proud animal lover, especially his sweet rescue dog, LuLu who was a constant companion by his side. Paul's fun-loving spirit, quick wit, and generosity of heart made him a one-of-a-kind individual, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
