Dear Family and Friends,
Another fall and another election: For me that conjures everlasting memories of Ventnor's wonderful Mayor Phil Robinson. Phil was a man and a politician one could really never forget and wish he could live forever. May all of your own sweet memories make you smile for the good man he was. RIP, Mayor Phil. Sincerely ~ Claudette

Dear Family and friends... my deepest sympathy to all of you.
Many years ago, when I arrived at Ventnor City as a young bride and new homeowner, Phil Robinson was serving his first term as the City's finest mayor, and I had not yet voted.
While following local news accounts, I soon learned that Mayor Robinson was meeting much resistance while opposing a proposed Ocean Outfall System. As I read on, I questioned how anyone would want such a sewerage system. I also quickly recognized how advanced our Mayor was in his thinking and for opposing it. Two events soon thereafter occurred: I registered to vote and I wrote a letter to the "Voice of the People" in support of Mayor Robinson.
I was most surprised and delighted to receive a letter of appreciation from the Mayor. And, I cast my first vote for him to serve his second term. He won and I was happier knowing that Phil Robinson was still the Mayor.
Alike many others, I regret that I never met nor got to shake his hand. I moved to the County Seat two years before he moved to Canada, but I never forgot him. A week before reading this announcement, while discussing the upcoming election with a neighbor, I found myself honoring Mayor Robinson for his public service and for inspiring me to register and vote.
May all of your own wonderful memories of your loved one and friend, Phil Robinson, comfort and sustain always. And may he ever rest in peace.
Most Sincerely,
Claudette Dee

Dearest Uncle Philly-
How wonderful and touching to read all of these things about you. I am sure my mama told me many of these throughout the years. She was a big fan of yours. And I am forever in your debt for giving my mom her final resting place near her family. You outlived everyone....and now your soul shines even brighter. Forever in my heart. Also lots of love to my cousins.

I am sorry for the loss of your dad. I lost my dad recently and some of the words you used to describe your dad resonated with me, “ Sharp, proud, and self-reliant until the end, he resisted anyone doing for him or treating him as less than fully capable. It was a shock to us that he was not immortal” My father was also a cigar smoker...but lit his. My father knew roads across the country like your dad - he could tell you a highway name, cross street and the best restaurant in the town at the drop of a hat ! They don’t make them like our dads anymore...
Thank you for this wonderful tribute to your dad, a person I did not know, I thoroughly enjoyed it and appreciated learning about his life. He certainly had a great ride!
