Rhoda Ashley Obituary
ASHLEY, REV. DR. RHODA RICE, 76 - of Atlantic City passed way Friday, June 29, 2007, at home. She earned her Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctorate degrees at Jameson Christian College in Philadelphia, PA. More than 20 years ago she founded and became the Pastor of Christ Temple Apostolic Church of Atlantic City. Reverend Ashley also served on the Clergy Advisor Council in Atlantic City and served as a volunteer for the Caring Adult Center. Pastor Ashley was affiliated with the Pentecostal Assembly of the World, Inc. For more than 30 years she worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Atlantic City Medical Center-City Division from where she retired. She is predeceased by: her parents, Joseph and Rhoda Rice; son, David Ashley; seven brothers and six sisters. She leaves to cherish her memory: loving husband, Artis Ashley, Sr.; sons, Artis, Jr. and Craig, Sr. (Mary); daughter, Rosalind; grandchildren, LaMia and Craig, Jr.; brothers Allan Rice (Audrey), and Eugene Rice; sister, Evangelist Hannah Boone (George); aunt, Virginia Hillary; uncle, Fred Terrell and a host of other family and friends. Funeral Services will be held 11AM, Friday, July 6, 2007, at Christ Gospel Church, Ohio and Lincoln Avenues, Atlantic City, where friends may call from 10AM. Interment to follow in Atlantic City Cemetery, Pleasantville. Arrangements entrusted to Greenidge Funeral Homes, Atlantic City.

I'm so sorry for your lost. Your Mom was like a second mom to me. She even spoke at my Dads Home coming which I was very happy about that. As she would say there's a time and place for every thing. To the Ashley Family,
Rhoda has been a friend of mine sense we were 10 years old. She is a great woman to have known and I'll never forget her. We have shared many of good times and she was there for me in my bad times also. Rhoda will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The Word says I heard a voice from heaven saying, blesseth are they which died in the Lord, for they rest from their labors but their works do follow. Pastor Ashley was a true friend and Sister in Christ to our mother Evangalist Dorothy Mansfield she held wonderful memories of her and often shared with us stories of the great friendship they shared,
she considered her a very special person and because of her friendship to our mother she will never be forgotten.

May I extend my deepest sympathy to Rhoda's family. She was a hard working, caring, God loving person. I worked with Rhoda for many years at the Atlantic City Med. Center and shared many laughs and sorrows with her. I know she will be deeply missed, but she is now one of God's special angels.
