Rhoda Costanza Obituary

Costanza (Minett), Rhoda, - 91, of Somers Point, was welcomed into heaven on May 15th. Born in Pontypridd, Wales then growing up in Cheltenham England. Pre-deceased by her parents Harry and Annie; and brothers Trevor, Leslie, Jack, Charlie and Aubrey. She always had many stories from her childhood growing up during war time. To this day she was still in contact with childhood friends. Rhoda caught the eye of an American Soldier and love would find her boarding the Queen Elizabeth and taking a leap of faith starting a life in America. Married over 40 years until losing her husband Sebastian "Al" in 1995. Survived by her children Daniel (Janet) David and Denise. Grandsons Daniel (Laura) Leeds England, Trevor, Kyle, Dylan. Great-Granddaughter Frankie Lynn who has been the Sunshine in her life for the past three years. She was crazy for her Phillies and was there for the 2008 World Series Win. She surely will be cheering them on from above. If Rhoda was your friend you were friends for life. She was our Mom, our Gram, our Great-Gram and our world. Carry on in Heaven until we meet again. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St Jude's or the Ocean City Humane Society. If you would like to, please honor Rhoda by wearing your Phillies gear. Her wish was for a bright and colorful gathering. A celebration of Rhoda's life will be held on Tuesday, May 28th from 5 to 7 p.m., followed by a 7 p.m. service at the George H. Wimberg Funeral Home, 1707 New Road, Linwood, NJ 08221. Condolences may be extended to the family at ghwimberg.com.

So sorry to hear of your Mom´s passing. Our family lived next door for years and our Mothers became friends, sharing their stories from Europe ( their homeland) post WWII. Rhoda always had a beautiful smile and jovial welcome for everyone. We loved listening to her English accent and trying to imitate her and the " Beatles " rock band! May the good memories you have from your Mom support you in your sorrow.
