Catando, Richard Albert - aka RAC, - 82, of Little Egg Harbor, (formerly Galloway), NJ, passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on June 28. Born in Westmont NJ, he graduated Collingswood High School and then went on to become a self-employed electrical contractor before working at Atlantic County Utilities Authority for 25 years. He retired Vice President of the Wastewater Division where he received a National Clean Water Recognition Award for Wastewater Treatment Facility Operations and Maintenance Excellence. Rich enjoyed nature and wildlife and being outdoors, boating, skiing, camping & hiking â€" especially with friends and family in Shenandoah. He loved the open road and adventure especially on his Harley and was an active member of the Atlantic County Hog Owner Group and a road captain. Rich enjoyed the company of friends and was an officiating member of the Atlantic City Inlet Social Club. He was also an active member of the Boardwalk chapter of Toastmasters International for many years. Rich especially enjoyed spending time with his family and could often be found at one of his grandchildren's baseball, soccer, field hockey, basketball or lacrosse games, or one of their many events. His fondest memories are his trips with grandchildren to the Florida Keys, where he vacationed every year. He is predeceased by his first wife and high school sweetheart, Fay Paula Catando, his parents Albert and Adela Catando, his sister Marcia (Catando) Pumpelly, his sister-in-law Nancy Catando, his sister & brother-in-laws Joan & Frank Dintino. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 14 years, Leslie Ann Catando, his children Pamela (Marc) DeBlasio and Justin (Danielle) Catando, and his six grandchildren Michael & Fay DeBlasio and Julia, Alyssa, Alexa and Laney Catando. He is also survived by his brother Robert (Donna) Catando, brother-in-law Charles Pumpelly, his brother & sister-in-laws Jack & Celestine Houston, many nieces and nephews, and his black lab Cudjoe.
