Ruth M. Bruno (née Maggioncalda), 96, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving children, on October 20, 2025.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 61 years, Frank A. Bruno. Born and raised in Philadelphia during the crash of 1929, Ruth was the 11th of 12 children of the late John A. Maggioncalda, Sr. and Clara V. (Trout), and the last surviving sibling. Ruth is survived by her four children: Claire-Marie B. Kuhar (Thomas), Vincent J. Bruno, Francis "Frank" A. Bruno, and Anthony J. Bruno (Kenneth W. Bassett). She was a devoted grandmother to Andrea L. Kuhar and Kevin T. Kuhar (Alyssa); step-grandmother to Jennifer Curran (William) and Jacob Kuhar (Karen); and proud great-grandmother to Amelia C., Annalise O., and Everly Marie Kuhar. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Josephine Cibuliew; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Anthony and Jennifer Bruno; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
A 1947 graduate of John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls' High School, Ruth worked for Yellow Cab Co. in Philadelphia and Wheaton Glass Co. in Millville before devoting herself to her family in Vineland, N.J., where she lived for 64 years. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the Sisters and Staff of Villa Raffaella Assisted Living in Pleasantville for their compassionate care.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Friday, October 24, 2025, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish – Church of St. Isidore, 1655 Magnolia Road, Vineland, followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery, Vineland. Memorial contributions may be made to Villa Raffaella Assisted Living or a charity of one's choice. To share condolences and tributes, please visit www.pancoastfuneralhome.com.
