Sadie Y. Kinzler

KINZLER, SADIE Y. 93 - of Ocean City, died in her sleep March 20, 2008. Born March 21, 1914 in Camden to William C. Young and Sadie G. Young, she was a graduate of Camden High School. Sadie moved to Ocean City permanently in 1950, having previously been a resident 1943-44. Her late husband, George E. Kinzler, managed the Ocean City A&P Supermarket for 25 years prior to his death in 1974. She was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Ocean City. Young at heart, she humorously identified with Peter Pan who was eternally 12 years old. She enjoyed cross word puzzles, reading, and travel and was a cat lover. Sadie had fond memories of Cape May where she vacationed as a small child and particularly of Long Beach Island where in Beach Haven Terrace her family owned a Summer vacation home for several decades. She had especially fond memories of her father who served as Postmaster in Collingswood. She was predeceased by her parents, brother W. Charles Young, Jr., sister Leila M. Schoenfeld and in recent months her girlhood friend Marguerite Maginnis. She was the much loved mother of Ronald G. Kinzler and Georgia E. Becher. She is survived by her son and his wife, Lynn Kinzler, and by her daughter and her husband, Robert J. Becher, Sr. Also surviving are grandchildren Robert J. Becher, Jr. and his wife, Kendall Becher of Ocean City, Heidi B. Desjardins and her husband, Ben Desjardins of South Riding, Virginia and Brian G. Becher and his wife, Laura Becher of Melbourne Beach, Florida, and great grandchildren, Robert J. Becher, III, Taylor Becher, Jesse Becher, Camille Desjardins and Brendan Desjardins. A celebration of her life will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church, 10th and Central Avenue, Ocean City, on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 11am.
