Sharon Molly Parks

1953 - 2023

Parks, Sharon Molly, - 69, of Somers Point, NJ, flew off to a new adventure in heaven on January 12, 2023. Born in Woodbury, NJ, her family moved to Cape May Court House in 1958. She attended Middle Township Public Schools and graduated from Cape May County Vo-Tech as Valedictorian of the Practical Nursing Program. While dedicating her professional career to nursing she also enjoyed bartending at Maynard's Café in Margate. Her passions included music, gardening, fishing, gazing at the moon, and she was especially devoted to protecting animal rights and proudly served at "saving planet earth" as a Rutgers Certified Environmental Steward. Sharon was the 3rd child of Lawrence R. Parks "Bob" and Barbara Schilder Parks. Her parents and sister Roberta Johnson flew before her. Left to gaze at "Nanny's moon" are her beloved husband Edward A. Filling, Jr., her "baby girl" Eileen Parks Bennett, her "son" Edward H. Bennett, Jr., her twin grandsons Ryan and Jackson Bennett, her loving sister Diane P. Croitor, and her dear "brother Bob" Bobby Parks. Her circle of love included 7 nieces and nephews and their beautiful families who affectionately new her always as Aunt Shanna. On May 21, 2023 you are welcomed to stop by or stay for the day at the Cape May County Park and Zoo where we will gather amongst nature to enjoy some of Sharon's favorite things; sing some Rock n Roll, let the children play, visit the zoo and watch the birds fly.
