Steenland, Theodore M., - 89, of Belleplain, NJ, passed away peacefully at his home on August 5, 2023. He was born in Norwalk, CT to Hendrick J. & Maria (Haskes) Steenland. Ted is survived by his brother: Richard (June) Steenland; daughters: Nancy (Doug) Evans and Susan (Danny) Fowler; grandchildren: Christopher Evans, Brian (Stacy) Evans, John (Amanda) Steenland, Kyle Steenland, Kenneth Steenland, Rachel (Doug) Cochrane, and Stephanie (Jack) Hisky; and great-grandchildren: Barrett, Bailey, Parker, Emmitt, Ava & Owen. He is predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Ruth (Winters); sons: Joseph & Kenneth Steenland; brothers: Henry, Charles & William; and sisters: Mary, Millie & Elsie. Ted & Ruth started Steenland's Oil/Gas Service in 1961. He was a lifelong member of St. Casimir's Church, where he served on the finance committee. He was a member of the Dennis Twp. Planning Board, Fuel Merchants Association, and was a lifetime member of the Belleplain Fire Company. Ted was an avid golfer, fisherman, skier, loved to travel, read and riding on his tractor. But above all, was his love and devotion to his family. Services will be Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Saint Maximilian Kolbe Parish-St. Casimir Church, 304 Clay Street, Woodbine, NJ 08270. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m.. Mass will follow at 11. Burial will be private.
