Thomasina Fitzpatrick Obituary

Fitzpatrick, Thomasina, - 88, of Atlantic City, "Mom" "nana" "sis fitz" went home to heaven to her savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, 7/23/22. She was born on February 14, 1934, in Beckley, West Virginia to Sara and Thomas Harris. She graduated from Stratton high school in 1951. She also studied voice, grammar, and diction under voice teacher Bernice Henry. In 1952, she migrated to Chicago, Illinois where she began pursuing a singing career. She sang in various clubs; one, the cotton club with count basie. She met and married Ernest Fitzpatrick. To that union were born three children, Thea, Terrence and Tyrone. In 1962 she moved to Atlantic City to care for her father. After his death she decided to remain here. She worked in the pre-casino hotels. She was assistant housekeeper at the Traymore, executive housekeeper at the Lafayette and colony motels. Her last place of employment was Dunkin Donuts. In 1981, she became a member and was baptized in the then Westminster Evangelistic Church. She was active on the choir, the usher board, the finance committee, the dietary committee and also acted as church recorder. She is predeceased by her son Terrence Fitzpatrick. She is survived by her daughter, Minister Thea Fitzpatrick of Mayslanding, a son Tyrone Fitzpatrick of Baltimore, 6 grandchildren; Jason McNeal of Rhode Island, George McNeal of Ohio, Sophia Fitzpatrick of Georgia, Shekeda Fitzpatrick-Stewart of Florida, Shawn Fitzpatrick of Alabama, Danetta Bell of Maryland. Also 3 marital grandchildren; Alvin Walker, Gregory Walker, and Edward Jamison. Also, great-grandchildren; Alexis and Leah McNeal of Rhode Island, Shaniyah and Semaj Stewart of Florida, Anivea Fitzpatrick of Alabama, Tylia Demps, Aliyah Wallace, and Devin Murray of Georgia, Aurora Bell of Maryland, along with a host of family and friends. Services will be held Wednesday, 8/3/22 at Westminster Christian Worship, 9 S. Chelsea Ave, Atlantic City NJ. Viewing 9-11am Service starting at 11am. Burial will take place at Mt.
