Vance Virtue Obituary

Vance Virtue

October 17, 1953 - May 26, 2025

Vance Charles Virtue

October 17, 1953 – May 26, 2025

Vance Virtue, 71, of Egg Harbor Township, NJ, passed away suddenly on May 26, 2025, in Mays Landing, NJ, doing what he loved most, riding his motorcycle on a beautiful day.

Vance was a lifelong resident of Atlantic County. He attended Mt. Vernon Elementary School and Mill Road School in Northfield, NJ and graduated from Mainland Regional High School in Linwood, NJ, Class of 1971.

From an early age, Vance's passion for mechanics and motorcycles set him on a path that would define much of his life. He began his career working for the Kawasaki Dealership in Atlantic City from 1972 to 1978. He then served as the Senior Mechanic for the Motorcycle Department of the Atlantic City Police Department from 1978 until his retirement in 2016, a role in which his remarkable ability to diagnose and solve mechanical problems earned him deep respect.

Motorcycles were more than just a career; they were a lifelong love. Vance was a passionate motorcyclist and avid collector, with a vast knowledge of motorcycle styles and mechanics. He was a faithful attendee at motorcycle rallies across the country, including the AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days in Mid-Ohio. These events were a chance for him to buy, sell, and trade parts, particularly for his beloved Kawasakis, as well as connect with fellow enthusiasts. He also rode in support of numerous charity rallies, always finding ways to give back to the community through his passion.

To his family, Vance was the embodiment of loyalty and dependability. Whether it was helping with a car issue, a household repair, or just being there when it mattered most, Vance never hesitated to show up. When his mother resided in assisted living, he visited her daily after work and again every Sunday. His devotion extended to his siblings and extended family, always willing to lend a hand with quiet strength and a generous heart.

He brought laughter and joy with his playful sense of humor, especially when teasing his younger sister, nieces, nephews, and created countless cherished memories. He will be deeply missed.

Vance is lovingly remembered by his sister, Lois Rossetti (Albert); his brother, Arthur M. Virtue; his sister, Jini Errichetti (Robert); cousin Jim Virtue (Mary); cousin Wendy Dargay (David); and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Virginia Virtue; his father, Arthur H. Virtue; and his sister-in-law, Nancy Virtue.

A man of quiet wisdom, skillful hands, and deep integrity, Vance leaves behind a legacy of kindness, craftsmanship, and unwavering support. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A viewing will be held on June 5, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with a service to follow at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road, Northfield, NJ 08225. Interment will follow at Laurel Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alzheimer's Association.

I'm so sorry to hear this of Vance. I pray for his family and friends. Vance and I worked together at Performance Cycles in the Chelsea area of Atlantic City from 1974 until I went away to college in 1977. Vance was my mentor as a motorcycle mechanic, an interest for which I practice to this day. Godspeed, my friend.
