Ivan Hugh McCracken

1937 - 2024

Ivan H McCracken, 86, passed away February 24, 2024, from injuries sustained in a car accident. He was born August 3, 1937, in Englehart, Ontario, Canada to Alice Oram and Samuel E McCracken.

He attended school in Canada, then came to Utah to attend BYU. He served a mission in Uruguay, Paraguay and Argentina. He married Marilyn Starr Young on February 9, 1962 in the Salt Lake temple. He graduated from San Jose State College in 1969. The family moved from California to Bluewater New Mexico in 1978. Ivan worked in consulting and other entrepreneurial endeavors then he worked at a power plant until he retired.

After his first wife died in 1987, Ivan married Vicki Elison, October 24, 1987. After being divorced, he married Barbara Jean Hisle (later deceased) on September 11, 1997. In 2005, Ivan came to Idaho when he married Lana Baird of Mink Creek.

He is survived by his wife Lana, and his children O'Lynn (Abdul) of Phenoix, AZ; Ivan (Lori) of Burley ID, Bliss (Troy) of Allen, Texas; Samuel (Erin) of Anthem AZ; Cheranne (Joel) of Albuquerque, N.M ; Eden of Laguna Beach CA; Aaron (J'Lene) of (Manhattan, KS) and Mallery (Josh) of Tuttle,OK; two brothers Sam (Robbie) of Raymond, Canada and Peter (Margret) of Whitehorse Canada, and a sister Ardith of Kelwona, British Columbia. Ivan was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marilyn, and two of his children: a son Zephram Andrew and a daughter Amber Alice June.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in the Mink Creek Ward Chapel, 7316 N. Capital Hill Rd, Preston, Idaho. A viewing will be held Thursday from 11:30 am-12:30 pm at the church. Interment will be on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. in the Blue Water Cemetery in Blue Water, New Mexico.
