Daniel "Danny" E. Hamann, age 76, of Benoit, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at his home. He was born on August 10, 1948 in Park Falls, WI, the son of Edwin and Irene (Tesch) Hamann.
Danny graduated from Butternut High School and served 3 years in the U.S. Navy. He was stationed in Da Nang, Vietnam aboard the U.S.S. Dubuque. He married Cathy Pape on December 7, 1974 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Danny worked as logger in Butternut, WI for several years and later worked as a concrete finisher in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He enjoyed working on his son-in-law's dairy farm in Benoit, especially working on and driving the farm machinery and doing concrete finishing on the farm. He enjoyed painting ceramics and was a renowned cook in his family.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Cathy Hamann, 4 children, Melissa (Tim) Netz – Benoit, Brian Hamann – Benoit, Dawn (Dale) Heglund – Douglasville, Georgia and Scott (Tanya) Hamann – Ashland, 11 grandchildren, Marcus, Clayton, Frederick, Curtis, Josie, Jazmine, David, Dani, Dylan, Dayton and Lincoln, 4 great-grandchildren, a brother, Pete Hamann – Butternut, 2 sisters, Diane Mallak – Minneapolis, MN and Pat "Peachy" Jeffries – Butternut and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Edwin and Robert Hamann and 2 sisters, Thelma McKuen and Karen Esslinger.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, February 15, 2025 at the Bethany Baptist Church in Mason with Pastor Jeremiah McClure officiating. Visitation will be from 12 noon – 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the church.
