Daniel Kosterman, 77, passed away August 26, 2024, under the care of Hope Hospice and his family. After attending Phillips High School, Dan enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served his country working on fighter planes in England, Turkey, and Spain. He also helped in the evacuation of citizens from Tripoli, Libya in Africa. He married Kathy Good and they made their home in Prentice.
He worked at Northern Equipment Service, Polacek Implement, Blomberg Trucking, and retired from Guzinski Trucking. Dan never quit working on cars, trucks, tractors, and his collection of Studebaker vehicles. He fondly referred to his collection as the "the largest car collection in Price County". He was proud of his families' accomplishments, Kathy starting a business, Peggy becoming a nurse, and BJ working on building and restoring old cars and trucks. Dan was always eager to talk with his sisters and brothers, enjoyed his time with his grandchildren and great-grandson who called him "Super Grandpa".
Dan is survived by his wife of 53 years, Kathy; daughter, Peggy (Rich) Randell; son, "BJ" Bryan (Rachel); grandchildren, "Bubba" Daniel Swansey, Amanda (Travis) Walber, Brynna, and Evie; great grandson, Leo Walber; siblings, Linda Heizler, Gary, Art (Sue), Debbie (Don) Ringersma, Connie (Danny) DeLasky; brother-in-law, Mark (Karen) Good; and numerous friends and family. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Bonnie; sister-in-law, Mary (Al) Meives; brother-in-law, Kenny Heizler; and son-in-law, Frank Swansey.
There will be a Memorial Service at 11 a.m.on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Heindl-Nimsgern Funeral Home, 284 Chestnut Street, Phillips, WI, 54555. Visitation will start at 10 a.m. and continue until the start of service. Heindl-Nimsgern Funeral Home is assisting the family.
