Shelia Sale Obituary

Shelia Fletcher Sale

December 27, 1958 - October 18, 2025

Shelia Fletcher Sale, 67, passed peacefully at her home shortly after sunrise on Saturday, October 18th.

Born December 27, 1958, she and her brother, John, faced a difficult start in life, growing up at the Oxford Orphanage in Oxford, North Carolina. Despite a childhood that required great tenacity, she never allowed her early struggles to weaken her capacity for empathy, kindness and generosity. Instead, they forged her into a dedicated wife, mother and friend. Shelia's greatest ambition in life was simply to be loved. It's an ambition that she fulfilled ten times over. Her home was built on endless patience, unconditional love and offering support during the darkest of times. Shelia's sweet and warm disposition touched everyone she met, and her unwavering support of those she loved can never be replaced.

She will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Rachel and partner Sam, Molly and husband Jason, and her two treasured grandchildren, Koen and Morgan.

Shelia was preceded in death by her husband and partner, Richard Sale, her two loving brothers, John Fletcher and David Patterson, and her steadfast canine counterparts, Chester and Jack Frost.

Honoring her wishes, there will be no service.

In celebration of Shelia's life, please consider performing a random act of kindness, donating to your local food pantry, or making a contribution to Hospice of the Piedmont.
