BARBARA N. KINCAID

Barbara Nester Kincaid "Nana", 77, of Chester, VA went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 16, 2018 after a short battle with cancer.

She was born to Helen Elizabeth Journigan and Vernon Lee Baker in Henderson, NC and lived in Durham, NC until the age of 12 when her mother passed away. She then moved to Chester, VA with her Uncle James and Aunt Frances Journigan. She graduated from Thomas Dale High School and retired from Honeywell formerly Allied Chemical after 40 years of service to take care of her grandchildren. She attended New Jerusalem Fellowship and was very active in The Super Kids Ministry for over 30 years, which she helped establish. She always looked forward to the annual Super Kid trip to Eagle Erie each fall. She was a loving mother and Nana. She loved spending time with her family and especially loved going to the beach. She was preceded in death by her parents Helen Journigan and Vernon Baker, and her loving husband John F. Kincaid.

She is survived by her children Terry Wayne Nester (Michelle) of Hopewell, VA, Joey Nester (Deborah) of Chesterfield, VA, Todd Nester (Debra) of Chester, VA; grandchildren Kelly White (Chris) of Petersburg, VA, Kayla Nester of Chester, VA, Taylor Mae Nester of Hopewell, VA, Dylan Nester of Chester, VA, Drake Nester of Chester, VA, Maddie Johnson, Chester, VA, and Logan Johnson of Chester, VA; great-grandchildren Elizabeth White, of Chester, VA, Ethan White of Petersburg, VA; sisters Ann Bosher of Chesterfield, VA, Evelyn Nicely of Chesterfield, VA, brother James Journigan of Colonial Heights, VA; and a host of other family and devoted friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 PM to 8PM on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held at 9AM on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at New Jerusalem Fellowship Church, 5500 Middle Road, Prince George, VA 23875, with the Reverend Roger Dean, officiating. Interment will follow at Bermuda Memorial Park in Chester, VA.
