BESSIE FLOYD Obituary

Bessie Abernathy Floyd, 91, of Matoaca, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at the Colonial Heights Health Care Center. Born in Ettrick, she was the daughter of the late Frank J. and May Kinker Abernathy. She was a member of Ettrick United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, James Thomas Floyd; a nephew, Brian Barnes; a niece, Mary Barnes; and numerous friends.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, Va., with the Rev. Bob Lamb officiating. The visitation will be held from 12 to 1 p.m. Monday at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.

Flowers welcome or contributions may be made to Ettrick Matoaca EMS, 5711 River Road, Matoaca, VA 23803. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
