Dwight Masterson Obituary

Dwight K. Masterson Sr., 73, of Dinwiddie, was dispatched to be with his beloved wife of 53 years, Barbara Masterson, on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010.

He was preceded in death by his son and granddaughter, Ralph and Christie Masterson.

He is survived by daughters, Sherry (Larry) Wolfe, Barbie (John) Kephart, April (Keith) Joyner, Paula (Dickie) Johnson, Patty (Brandon) Wells, Kathy (Troy) Bradley; sons, Kenney (Jennine) Masterson and Keith Masterson; 20 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Connie Dam; one brother, Rod (Carolyn) Masterson; and numerous nieces and nephews

Dwight was a Vietnam veteran serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of the Petersburg American Legion and the Dinwiddie Moose Lodge. He retired from National Welders of Charlotte, N.C.

A memorial service will be held Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, at Oak Grove United Methodist Church, Acorn Drive, Petersburg, Va. (Dinwiddie County). In lieu of flowers family suggest contributions be made to the American Lung Association.
