EDNA E. MAYTON

Edna Earl Mayton, 90, of Dinwiddie County, died Tuesday, January 17, 2017. Born in Blackstone, Va., she was the daughter of the late Samuel Orn and Molly Nannie Ostein Craven. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Fletcher Lee Mayton; seven sisters; and one brother. A member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, Mrs. Mayton loved her church and her church family. She also enjoyed working in the garden, canning, fishing, and cooking, especially her chicken and dumplings.

She is survived by her son, Earl Mayton of Sutherland, Va.; grandchildren, Fletcher Earl Mayton, Jr. and wife, Michelle, of Beaverdam, Va., and Chelsea Louis Mayton of Lawrenceville, Va.; great-grandchildren, Mitchell Justin Mayton, Sean Wesley Mayton, and Megan Jordan Mayton; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2017, at Pine Grove Baptist Church followed by interment at Southlawn Memorial Park.
