Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Mrs. Florence Loretta Wiggins Freeman, "Flo", 59, of 23619 River Road, Petersburg, Va., departed suddenly Thursday, May 24, 2012, in Norfolk, Va.

"Flo" was the youngest of 14 children born on June 25, 1952, along with her twin sister Flossie in Sussex, Va., to the late Hinton and Florence Wiggins. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Author Wiggins, James Wiggins, Prince Wiggins; and one sister, Rosa Wiggins.

She was educated in Sussex County Public Schools. At an early age, Flo accepted Christ and was baptized at the Hunting Quarter Baptist Church, Sussex, Va. Flo, as she was affectionately known, was loved by all for her sense of humor, kind heart and joyful spirit; but a special love with her twin sister, Flossie, a bond that was unbreakable until now. As a teenager, Flo had a passion for doing hair and became a licensed cosmetologist and loved it.

She leaves to cherish in her memories: two very devoted sons, whom she loved dearly, Timothy D. Freeman (Shelly) of Hampton, Va., Antwain L. Freeman of North Bergen, N.J.; one granddaughter, Miss Timeka Freeman of Hampton, Va., who she loved with all her heart; five sisters, Ms. Paige Cameron of Mansfield, Ohio, Ms Beulah Jackson, Ms. Gladys Wiggins. both of Stony Creek, Va., Ms. Annie L. Wright (Joseph) of Emporia, Va., Ms. Flossie Wyatt (Billy) of Petersburg, Va.; Four brothers, Mr. Junious Wiggins (Doris), Mr. Robert Wiggins (Valarie), Mr. William Wiggins (Laura), and Mr. McNeil Wiggins (Barbara), sister-in-law, Ms. Lillian Wiggins, all of Norfolk, Va.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends, among them, five very devoted nephews, Will Roney, Richard Wiggins, Steven Wiggins, Mancy Jackson, and James Jackson; devoted nieces, Gloria Roney, Carolyn Nichols, Felisha Wyatt, Shoneka Wyatt, and Catherine Brown.

Homegoing celebration for Florence Freeman will be held on Friday, June 1, 2012, at 1 p.m. at the Galilee Baptist Church, Stony Creek, with the Rev. Linda Skipper, officiating. Burial will follow at the Morning Star Baptist Church, Capron, Va. Viewing will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2012, at the funeral home, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Today is a very sad day at the Petersburg Dermatology Clinic because a very dear special person has earned her wings and moved into a new home.

Last week Florence was so happy . I told her she looked so good and she told me she felt real good.

Although she will be missed so very much. She shell never be forgotten. God never makes mistakes although we as a people think so.We hate to let someone so special go.

Just remember when the load seems too hard to bare may God hold you in the hollow of his hands. He will carry you through this difficult time.

To our cousins, what a wonderful mother we shared. While this is certainly shocking and heartbreaking for our family, we still have the glue that keeps us together stronger. As we do often in life, "lean on me". We are a family that stays together and prays together and we will continue to move on as she has left a wonderful legacy behind. She will continue to smile upon us and we will continue to have a part of her here on earth-- Just like you allowed us to share your mother, you can continue to share ours. Kids of twins are siblings not cousins and will we always be. With love in our hearts, we hold each other up as we allow 'Aunt Flo' to go home. Remember Grandma is waiting for her...
