Gregory Jones Obituary

Mr. Gregory L. "Top" Jones of 613 North Carolina Ave., Petersburg, Va., entered into eternal rest on Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, at his residence.

He was born May 1, 1962, to Oscar and Augustine Jones in Petersburg, Va. He was a lifelong resident of Delectable Heights, Petersburg, Va. Gregory attended Petersburg Public Schools and graduated with the Class of 1981. He was a former employee of Professional Maintenance in Prince George, Va., and Beasley Family Cleaning Service in Petersburg, Va.

He was preceded in death by his father, Oscar Jones Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memories, one daughter, Selina Johnson, two grandchildren, De'Quan Howard and Deonta Coleman, mother, Augustine Jones, all of Petersburg, Va.; grandmother, Bertha Goode of Chesterfield, Va.; one sister, Paula "Sis" Jones of Petersburg, Va.; five brothers, Oscar "Skeet" Jones Jr., Ricky "Tic" Jones, Larry "Brown" Jones (Lisa), all of Petersburg, Va., Paul Jones of California and Timothy Jones of North Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends, among them several devoted, Bobby, Chin, Ms. Martha, Celestine, Joyce and Wendy.

Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10, 2010, at the chapel of J.M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment Inc., 102 South Ave., Petersburg, Va. The interment to follow at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery.

Honorary and active pallbearers are asked to assemble 1:30 p.m. at the funeral establishment.

The family will assemble 1 p.m. the day of the services and receive friends at 1212 St. James St., Petersburg, Va.
