HENRY O. URQUHART

Mr. Henry O. Urquhart, 73, of 25017 Little Zion Rd., Carson, Virginia, entered into eternal rest at his home on Thursday, May 10, 2018. He was educated in the Dinwiddie Public Schools System. He was also a Veteran of the United States Air Force. Henry was a long time employee of Brown and Williams Tobacco Company and later went on to retire from Dinwiddie County Transportation Department.

He enjoyed tractors, gardening and anything mechanical. He was preceded in death by his adoptive parents, Richard and Athy Walker; his father and stepmother, Kniod and Peggy Urquhart; and his mother, Julia Urquhart who died when he was very young; a brother, William Urquhart; and grandson, Christian Urquhart.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Barbara T. Urquhart; four children, Phyllis Prosise (Mack) of Stony Creek, Derrick O. Urquhart (Carla), Brittany and Beyaka Tucker, all of Carson; 12 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, James Urquhart and Willie Frank Urquhart (Odessa), both of Stony Creek; three brothers-in-law, Thomas Earl Tucker(Sarah), Calvin Tucker, both of Dinwiddie, Sammy Hardy of Petersburg; three sisters-in-law, Ruth Skeeter(Otis) of Petersburg, Audrey Finney(Paul) of Macon Ga., and Shelia Hendricks (Wendell) of Dinwiddie; devoted friends, George Ridley, Theodore Perry, Paul Finney; and a host of relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the Gravel Run Baptist Church, Dinwiddie, with Rev. John A. Wynn, officiating, and the Rev. Dr. Larry D. Brown, Sr., Pastor, eulogizing. Burial will follow at the Dinwiddie Memorial Park. The family will assemble at the residence at 10 a.m. on the morning of the service.
