Dad, not a day goes by that I don't think of you. The pain from your loss is not as great as it was 8/15/2016 but it is still significant. I still am in disbelief that you are gone. I wish you were here to wrap your arms around Jordan and Joshua, they miss you tremendously. Oh dad, I miss you so much, Christmas was a few days ago...I miss the times you would meet us all (Kim, Kia, Jordan, Joshua, and me) at Potomac Mills so we could go Christmas shopping. Those were fun times. Hey guess what, for Christmas Kia named a star after you...that way when we look up in the sky we can see you. I tell you death is something...you just learn how to cope with the pain, you never get over it. I love you dad...your eldest, Kesha

I learned so much from Jack listening to him daily on the radio from here in Atlanta. He had so much wisdom. I literally doubled the size of my library with books he referenced or recommended. He was also a great storyteller and repository of history. He is remembered and still greatly missed.

My condolences to the family and friends of my dear friend and fellow soldier in the battle for civil rights in the media and broadcast industries. My last communication with Jack was 2010, following his presence at my retirement from the National Association of Broadcasters (2004). I had no idea of his passing until today (12/28/16) when I discovered an email from him while reorganizing files in my home office. I tried to call him to no avail. Only after an internet search did I discover this sad news of his passing. He was one of the most constant and dedicated messengers of the truth and passionate fighter for justice for all I have ever known. God Bless him. May he rest in Peace.

To the Family of Jack Gravely. Jack was a great. I have known Jack since his days at Tazewell County High School. Regardless of the task, as a running back in football, as a fighter in Vietnam, as a graduate of prestigious UVA Law School, as a long time civil rights advocate and as a talk radio host who had a special talent for getting to the crux of critical and significant issues, Jack was magnificent at the task at hand. Jack was an encouragement during my 34 years of practicing law in West Virginia and he was very helpful during the many years that I served as an officer of the West Virginia NAACP. We have lost a great man. Jack will be missed. You have my deepest and most sincere condolences..

Pocahontas lost a favorite son this week. I have known Jack for nearly seventy years. His family were such an asset to the Pocahontas community showing courage, stamina, and dignity. I enjoyed watching Jack and his brothers play football, basketball, and baseball. Early this year the Gravely homeplace had been destroyed by fire prompting me to reminisce about the entire Gravely family. I was planning to write Jack a letter thanking him for being such a positive role model. He was always so optimistic and kind to everyone. The people of Pocahontas were very proud of his accomplishments. I was very saddened that I did not write him sooner. He will be truly missed. Go in peace my friend.

Jack will truly be missed. I got to know him a little better by him taking on the challenge of trying to get the VSC NAACP back on track. I would go to the office weekly to see If I needed to sign checks or do anything to help out on lunch. He would always have doughnuts or other snacks and I would eat them up. Most importantly, he listened to my concerns and criticism on how things were being handled and looked for ways to fix it. He worked at the office on a daily basis like he was truly getting paid a salary. All he asked was for $150 each month. He worked because he loved the NAACP. Condolences to the family. He touched a lot of lives❤
