To the family of Sister Joan Lane,
Though I knew that Sister Joan was fighting the good fight, though I knew she was proving herself to be more than a conqueror; I knew she was getting tired at our last time together. As she sang I am on the battlefield for my Lord...she promised Him that she would serve, trust and obey him until she died...and that she did courageously. Joan was not only a friend, but a true Sister in the Lord. We laughed together, prayed together, hung out at gospel singing together and I loved her. I am praying for you, family, to be strengthened in the days ahead and do that which your Mom prayed and believed God for...serve God with all of your hearts, all of your mind and all of your strength; and as she sang "In everything give thanks, this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning You! Much love is extended to you...you will see her again on the other side!!!

Joan... my sister and my friend. I don't have the words to express the sense of loss and grief in knowing you are no longer with us. But you will forever be in my heart and my mind. I love you more than I can say. You will be deeply missed. My only relief is in knowing that you no longer suffer and you are at peace with God.
