God was making His rounds and he heard a loud voice from Heaven. Now come "Salvation and Strength" and his name was called, J.W. Kincaid. He turned and looked; there was the gate of Heaven. Now his troubles are over; we won't complain. He has earned his wings!
Mr. J.W. "Buddy" Kincaid, 81, of 2106 Dupuy Road, Petersburg, Va., was called home on Friday, May 29, 2009, at Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg, Va. Kincaid was born on Nov. 29, 1927, in Lake View, Ark., to Mose and Easter Robinson Kincaid. He was retired from U.S. Army, Brown & Williamson and Chesterfield County Schools.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being around friends and spending time with family, especially his great-granddaughter, Chanel. Kincaid was preceded in death by his parents, Mose and Easter Kincaid; brothers, Sam Kincaid, John Eddie Kincaid, Robert Kincaid, James Frank Kincaid, Jack Kincaid, Mose Kincaid Jr. and Rainey Kincaid; sisters, Maylee Kincaid, Viola Kincaid and Lizzi Kincaid.
Fond and precious memories will remain on the heart of, his seven children, Dr. Carrie J. Kincaid-Washington, Eric "Chuck" Kincaid, Carla "Lisa" Kincaid, John Kincaid, Michael Kincaid (Alice), all of Virginia, Jimmie Kincaid of Arizona and Earnestine Kincaid of Illinois; four grandchildren, Jacqueline Kincaid, Donnie Kincaid, Jasmine Kincaid and Jamaal Washington; five great-grandchildren, Chanel Edwards, Sean Edwards, Trevon Bethune, Dakari Bethune and Lutrell Hayes; brothers, T.C. Kincaid (Rosemary) of Texas and W.C. Kincaid (Mary Ann) of Michigan; one sister, Estella Kincaid-Harvey; special friends and extended family, ex-wife and best friends, Ruth Kincaid; granddaughters, Keyona Davis and Lauren Blakes; grandson, Charles "CJ" Williams Jr.; friends, Alfred Washington, McCoy Evans, John McNeil, Thomas Finley, Sam and Mabel Cook, McClain, Bailey Rettig and Josephine Womack; and a host of other family and dear friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, June 15, 2009, at Zion Baptist Church, 225 Byrne St., Petersburg, Va.; the Rev. Dr. Andrew J. White Sr., pastor, officiating. The interment to follow at the Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 14, 2009, at the funeral establishment.
