KATHLEEN KELLNER MONTEI

Kathleen Kellner Montei passed away peacefully on January 22nd, 2021 at Chippenham Hospital in Richmond, VA. She was born in Evansville, IN on March 5th, 1942, the only child of the late Jesse Charles Kellner, Jr. and Norma Ruth Ising Kellner. In 1960, she graduated from St. Joseph (MI) High School and soon afterwards met the love of her life Terry while at Silver Beach, MI. They married in Fort Benning, GA in 1964, and for the next 23 years she enjoyed life as a military wife and mother. After retiring in 1985 in Prince George, Kathy became very passionate about the outdoors, especially gardening, floral arranging, and yardwork. In addition, she was a member of the Nathaniel Causey Garden Club, a faithful volunteer at the Prince George Heritage Center, and was especially proud of her work to attain Blue Star Memorial Highway status for a section of road in Prince George County. Kathy is survived by her husband Terry, children Mike (Jane) Montei of Summerville, SC, and Amy Montei Ramsey (Marshall) of Richmond, VA, grandchildren Allison Montei Lotz (Matthew), Sarah Montei, and Evan Ramsey, and great-grandchildren Emma Grace Lotz and Harrison Lotz.
