LAKIA SPRIGGS Obituary
She was a graduate of Hopewell High School Class of 2004, after high school she attended PARC Service for 14 years where she enjoyed working. LaKia was baptized at Union Baptist Church at an early age.
LaKia enjoyed dancing, singing and listening to music. Her favorite rapper was "Lil Wayne", and she enjoyed spending time with family. LaKia also loved to embrace people with hugs.
She was preceded in death by her great grandparents, Novella hamond Johnson and William Johnson; great aunt, Thelma Bynum; great uncle Herman Bynum and her godfather, Harold J. Carter.
LaKia leaves to mourn a loving mother, Myra Yvette Spriggs; a loving and devoted sister, Laquinta Sade Spriggs, brother, Cortez Harris of Petersburg, VA; loving nephew and niece, Shawn Goode and Nevaeh Goode both of Hopewell, VA; grandmother, Sarah M. Moore (James) of Hopewell, VA; grandfather, William A. Spriggs of Glen Burnie, MD; loving aunt, Charlotte Spriggs of Hopewell, VA; cousins, Alegra Spriggs and Brandel Spriggs of Hopewell, VA; Michael Spriggs (Lilly) of Virginia Beach, VA; great aunt, Margaret Carter (Harold Carter deceased); great uncles, Johnny Johnson (Linda Watkins), Preston Johnson, Carles Hammond of Maryland, Russell Johnson (Rachel), Sylvester Johnson of Chesterfield, VA, and William Johnson (Margaret) of North Carolina; god-mother, Margaret Carter; god-sisters, Nikki Worsley (Anthony), Jazzmone Carter, Simone Samuel, and Keshauna Massenburg; god-brothers, Michael Hebron (Denise), Dewitt Cooper, Davon Fields, Tykeim Bowser; devoted friends, Destiny Harvell and Ayanna Patrick; and a host cousins and friends.
Services will be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday, March 13, 2021 at the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA. The interment to follow at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery.

I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Kia. I will always remember her love for Lil Wayne, how she would start talking about her birthday Everyday after New Year's day until it was finally here on March19, and the smile on her face as she told me "Good Morning Shunta" when I use to pick her up on the van in the mornings. (Her former van driver)
