On Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008, God in His infinite wisdom summoned our loved one to make transition from life here on Earth to eternal rest and peace. Mrs. Luvinia S. Walker, of 1637 Halifax St., Petersburg, Va., departed this life at the Golden Living Center, Petersburg, Va.
She was the daughter of the late Timothy and Mahazzy Robertson. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her grandson, Morris Jones Jr., and nine siblings.
Left to treasure precious memories are one son, Roger Stith Jr. of Petersburg, Va.; three daughters, Mary E. Jones, Shirley Stith and Geneva Grant of Baltimore; brother-in-law, Thomas Dalton of Petersburg, Va.; grandchildren, Bertina Jones Poole (Tyrone) and Richard Earl Grant; great-grandchildren, Brandon Hughes, Briana and Tyrone Poole, Brandon Earl, Tvera, Shantel and Jordon Earl Grant; a host of nieces, beloved and devoted nieces, Eunice Todd and Ella Sykes; nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at the chapel of J.M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment Inc., 102 South Ave., Petersburg, Va.; the Rev. William Blake officiating and Dr. Charlie Thompson, eulogist, both associate ministers of Unity Baptist Church, Petersburg, Va. Interment to follow in Dinwiddie Memorial Park.
Honorary and active pallbearers are asked to assemble at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral establishment.
