Richard Myrick Obituary
He was born June 17, 1949, to the late Virginia R. Myrick and Richard Edward Myrick Sr. Richard attended J.E.J. Moore High School and later was employed at Honeywell, formerly known as Allied Signal, where he retired after many years. He became self-employed as M&M Hauling and Backhoe Service, M&M Paving Plus and Myrick Lawn Care service until his declining health. Mr. Myrick was a member of Outlaw Racing Team and Nasty Boyz Racing. He was preceded in death by his sister, Priscilla Myrick
Richard leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of 37½ years, June J. Myrick; his daughter, Sherlytha Myrick Scott (Alonzo) of Dinwiddie; an adopted goddaughter, Denise Campbell of Petersburg; one granddaughter, Amari Scott of Dinwiddie; two stepgrandchildren, Alexus Scott and Alonzo Scott Jr. of Waverly; two brothers, Leon (Linda) Myrick and Jerome Myrick of Dinwiddie; his mother-in-law, Minnie Jones of Wakefield; four brothers-in-law, John Jones (Gloria), Willie Jones (Cynthia) Wayne Jones and William Jones, all of Wakefield; three nieces; seven nephews; four great-nieces; and two great nephews; a host of cousins, among them a devoted cousin, Raymond Richardson (Latrell); and devoted friends, Winslow Johnson, Lester Wright, Milton Curley, Earnest Johnson, Sheila Ridley, Patrick Griffin, and a devoted community of friends.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, at Providence Baptist Church, Prince George, where Bishop Marcus Campbell is pastor, and Elder Melvin Taylor will officiate. The interment will be in Dinwiddie Memorial Park, Dinwiddie. The family will assemble at the residence one hour prior to the service.
