Sandra Satterfield Obituary

Sandra Jean Wilmoth Pierce Satterfield, "Sandi," 58, of Chester, passed peacefully from this world to join our Heavenly Father through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, Sept. 6, 2013 at 5:30 a.m.

Sandi, lovingly known as "Dickybird," the nickname given to her by her beloved "daddy," was born on May 27, 1955, in Key West, Fla.

Sandi was predeceased by: her parents, Vivian L. Tipton Thompson and Josiah "Joe" Thurston Wilmoth (Chester); her paternal grandparents, Valree Spencer and James Oscar Wilmoth (Chester); and her maternal grandparents, Mary Poage Mitchell and Lawrence Edward Tipton Sr. (Colonial Heights). Sandi was a proud direct descendant of Ezekiel Wilmoth of Kapps Mill on the Mitchell River, Surry County, N.C.

Sandi leaves to remember her: the love of her life, beloved husband, Robert "Bobby" Cook Satterfield Jr.; a precious granddaughter and best friend, Nevaeh Sky Canada; and longtime devoted friend, Kirk Jones, all of Chester; children, Joshua and Sierra Satterfield; sister, caregiver, and confidant, Cheryl Whittle, and loving brother-in-law, Dickie (Lancaster) and her loving brother, Rick Wilmoth (Chester); special nephew and niece, Ricky Wilmoth and Kayla Kite.

Sandi is also survived by her siblings: Milton Wilmoth of Texas, Toni Priestley, JoAnn Walker Lear and Jayne Scofield of Virginia; her stepdaughters, Dora , Frankie and Sandy Satterfield; numerous grandchildren; nephews; nieces; and one great-grandson.

A celebration of Sandi's life will begin Saturday, Sept. 21st at 11 a.m. for family and 12 p.m. for friends and family at Gathering Grounds Ministry, 12211 Iron Bridge Road, Chester, Va. 23831. The services will end at 2 p.m. at the church, but will resume at Sandi and Bobby's home from 2:30 p.m. until! Please bring a covered dish and a dessert to share during our fellowship.
