Sandria Elizabeth Peterson
On the afternoon of Thursday, May 13, 2021, God was walking in His garden. The sun was shining on each blossom, young and old, throughout the garden. At Johnston-Willis Hospital, Chesterfield, VA, He walked, still searching for a lovely red rose. Finally, pausing at 4:30 P.M., God found His beautiful red rose, Ms. Sandria Elizabeth Peterson, ready to be taken from His garden.
The angelic angels escorted her into the joys of Heaven into her private room in Jesus' mansion where she is now safe and free from pain and suffering in this world of sin and sorrow in God's place of eternal rest.
On August 16, 1953, a bouncing baby girl was born in Petersburg, VA to the late Deacon Eddie Junius and Eliza Short Peterson. Sandria graduated from Petersburg High School in 1972 and later from John Tyler Community College, Chester, VA. After more than 40 years of dedicated employment, she retired from Defense Supply Center, Richmond, VA. At a young age, she was baptized by Rev. C. L. Robinson at Sharon Baptist Church, Dinwiddie, VA, and later joined First Baptist Church Centralia, Richmond, VA under the leadership of Dr. Wilson E. B. Shannon. In addition, she participated in Bible Study and served on the Bertha Whitlow Usher Ministry and Sisterhood Ministry.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Peterson; sisters, Julia Thomas and Pattie Peterson; and nephew, Michael Peterson.
Sandria leaves precious memories to be cherished by her very devoted daughters, LaShaunda Jones and Sandria Lherisse (Shawn); loving grandchildren, Keyona Jones and DaSean Anderson; goddaughter, Andrita Williams; siblings, Eddie Peterson (Nancy), Elder Emmette Peterson, Lucille Goodwyn (Herbert), Rev. Dr. Ora Peterson, and Delores Cain (Rev. Harry); beloved nieces and nephews, Terice Mason, Alan Peter, Darinda Bryan (Tony), Eddie Peterson III, Jamia Cain, and Katrice Cain; dear friends, Sandra Chandler, Garlene Wilson, Thelma Lee, Renita Johnson and Roger Johnson; and a host of cousins, special family and friends.
Graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Dinwiddie Memorial Park, 7324 Church Road, North Dinwiddie, VA, the Rev. Harry Cain, eulogist.
