ShaTyana, affectionately known as "Beanie" was born on May 7, 1992, in Poughkeepsie, New York, to the union of Ricky Valentino Johnson (deceased) and Eartha Earline Vines-Johnson. ShaTyana was her parents' greatest accomplishment, the apple of her Daddy's eye, and the wind beneath her Mother's wings. She brought a lot of joy, love, and light to her family, friends, and loved ones. ShaTyana had an inner light that radiated outwards, touching everyone she came in contact with.
ShaTyana began her educational journey in the Poughkeepsie City School district where she began playing the Viola at the age of 7. She later relocated with her family to Chester, Virginia where she attended Salem Church Middle School and L.C. Bird High School. During her time in middle school ShaTyana continued to hone her craft as a violist while playing in the Salem Church Middle School Orchestra. As she transitioned to high school, ShaTyana was a member of the L.C. Bird High School Symphony Orchestra where she played the Viola for 4 years. ShaTyana, was also a member of the L.C. Bird HS Marching Band Color Guard flag squad.
After graduating High School, ShaTyana went on to attend Norfolk State University. She majored in Psychology and graduated with a BS degree in 2015.
ShaTyana was employed at the Faison Center School for Autism as a Teaching Assistant (2016-2020). She later accepted a new position as a Case Manager for Hope Tree Family Services (2020-present). ShaTyana loved working with young people and aspired to one day finish her graduate degree and become a Child Psychologist/Counselor.
ShaTyana loved life and all that it had to offer. She was a music enthusiast, and loved to dance, laugh, and travel. She enjoyed spending time relaxing with family and friends, hanging out, and traveling to "The Beach House". She spent a lot of time bonding with the people she loved, and who loved her. ShaTyana was a phenomenal daughter, grand-daughter, niece, cousin, and friend. Her light will forever shine within us.
