Sylvia Robinson Obituary

"Peacefully sleeping resting at last, the worlds weary trouble and trials are all past."

Mrs. Sylvia Yarborough Robinson, age 67, of 19109 Andrews Drive, Ettrick, Va., departed this life Monday, Nov. 15, 2010, at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Va.

Sylvia was born May, 11, 1942, in Petersburg, Va., to Moses and Annie Bell White. She was educated in Petersburg Public Schools and worked in the lab at Brown & Williamson for 14 years.

Sylvia accepted Christ and joined First Baptist Church as a little girl. She was an active member of the M&M Clark Circle. She loved tomatoes, sports, and a good western.

Left behind to cherish the memories of Sylvia Yarborough Robinson, her husband, Gordon Robinson of Refugio, Texas; three sons, George III Yarborough of San Diego, Calif., Glenn Van Yarborough of Ettrick, Va., and Marc Yarborough of Ettrick, Va.; two daughters, Felecia Dawn Thorpe of Matoaca, Va., and Sonya Robinson of Ettrick, Va.; six grandchildren, Tamika Uzzle (Alefunzo), Tia Thorpe, Chase Robinson, Aamir Yarborough, Khalia Rivers and Brandell Wyatt; three great-grandchildren, Briona Uzzle, Kira Uzzle and Ivy Uzzle; mother-in-law, Frankie Isiah Robinson; a sister-in-law, Barbara Robinson of Fulton, Mo., and a host of cousins and devoted friends.

The funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Monday, Nov. 22, 2010, at First Baptist Church, 236 Harrison St., Petersburg, Va., the Rev. Dr. Jeremiah Tillman, pastor.
