Travis Manson Obituary

Mr. Travis Sentell Manson (Trap or Popeye), 29, formerly of 3522 Julep Drive, Colonial Heights, entered peacefully into the arms of our Father on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008 at Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg.

He was born May 12, 1979 to Charles and Regina Manson.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mrs. Cathrine Blannon and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry L. Manson.

He confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized into the membership of Shiloh Baptist Church, Chesterfield, and was a 1998 graduate of Matoaca High School.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his parents, Charles and Regina Manson of Colonial Heights; three brothers, Andre (Felecia) of Colonial Heights, Lawrence Manson (Felicia) of Chester, and Micheal Manson; one sister, Melinda Manson; a grandfather, Elmer Blannon, one uncle, Eric Blannon, both of Detroit, Mich., three aunts; Daisy M. Campbell of Ettrick, Jacqueline Harris (Willie) of Petersburg, and Pauline Franklin of Chicago, Ill.; five great aunts, one devoted, Virgina Blannon; godparents; Eric and Jennifer Blannon of Michigan, Bobby and Shirley Delaney of Richmond; three nieces, Carissa Manson, Carmile Manson and Kayla Manson; two nephews, DeCharde Manson and Rayshaun Mason; two godsisters, Angela Stith and Sherita J. Delaney; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, among the devoted cousins, Barry, Lisa, Willie Jr., Antonio Harris and Michelle Burse, all of Petersburg, and Daryl and Tony Blannon of Michigan.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009 at the Shiloh Baptist Church, Chesterfield, with the Rev. Marcus Leggett, pastor, officiating.

Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Family and friends attending the funeral may assemble at the residence one hour prior on the day of service.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the staff of William N. Bland and Son Funeral Home, Petersburg, (804) 732-7841, now serving from three locations: Petersburg, Hopewell and Waverly.
