SHARON SPEAKMAN

SHARON SPEAKMAN 7/11/1943 - 11/14/2025 Sharon Speakman, 82, of Haviland, Ohio passed peacefully on November 14, 2025. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved being surrounded by her family. She was born July 11, 1943 to the late Russell and Eileen Huffman. She lived in Ohio City as a young child then spent the rest of her younger life in Fort Wayne. She raised her family in Antwerp, Ohio and lived in Columbus, Delphos and Paulding before moving to Haviland a few years ago. In 1989, she married the love of her life and soul mate, Richard "Rick" Speakman who preceded her in death on November 21, 2021. She is survived by her children, Lisa (Ernie) Ladd of Bryan, Ohio, Jim (Susan) Farr of Haviland, Ohio and Rich (Melanie) Farr of Antwerp, Ohio. As well as her grandchildren, Jacob (Jessica) Farr, Jessica Farr, Emily (Adam) Stalsberg, Taylor (Kolt) Huston, Samuel (Trish) Ladd, Hannah (Tyler) Smith, Kate Farr, Hannah Ladd and Sara Farr and her great grandchildren Avery, Monroe and Logan Stalsberg, Grady and Camden Huston, Lawson and Magnolia Smith and Everett Ladd. She also is survived by her siblings Jacque (Kenn) Critten, Jim (Lucy) Huffman, Susan Decker, Russell (Barb) Huffman and sister in law, Monica Huffman. A brother, Tom Huffman also preceded her in death. Sharon loved bird watching with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, listening to her country music oldies and had a great musical talent where she spent several years singing in a local band, The Silver Eagle Band. Anyone who knew her most likely benefited from her amazing baked goods and knew her kitchen was always open. Her family would like to thank her sister Susan, Visiting Angels of Van Wert, Community Health Professionals (CHP), Hospice of NW Ohio and Country Inn Enhanced Living Center for their assistance making Sharon comfortable in her final days and providing comfort to the family. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, November 24, 2025 at Den Herder Funeral Home. Private family entombment will be held at Concordia Cemetery, Fort Wayne, IN. Visitation will be 5:00 P.M. until time of services on Monday, November 24, 2025 at Den Herder Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made in Sharon's memory to CHP Hospice.
