Men,
I heard about your dad's passing and wanted to share a few thoughts. Unfortunately I am in Buffalo on business and will not be able to attend.

Smokey was a great man and friend that touched literally thousands of lives, including my own. He is largely responsible for helping many wild adolescents develop into successful young men and now men. I cannot imagine how many kids Smokey assisted with getting into prep schools and colleges.

What a tremendous legacy he leaves behind.

What a great guy.

Dearest Annette and Family: I am struggling to find the words to give you some comfort at this saddest of times, while I grapple with my own sense of loss of Smokey. He was more to me than just a family friend--he was part of our family. I so looked forward to you both returning to Florida every October and cried every May when you'd go back. Smokey and Annette Sunday dinners or to watch a game will never be the same. I loved having philosophical discussions, talking about current events, or just sharing time with my besties from RI. Smokey was a dear man to all, willing to offering not just words of wisdom, but action to help anyone to succeed in their endeavors. One of my fondest memories was when Charlie and Smokey were supposed to fill the plastic Easter eggs for my annual hunt. They ate the whole bag of jelly beans and when I asked them what the *#!! were they doing, they both tried to look so innocent and hide the empty bag
RIP dearest Smokey - I hope you see Charlie in Heaven, coach and recruit a few "Angels" and blow that horn. With Much Love, Maria Lombardo and of course mom too Bonnie Morin
