Anna Sousa

SOUSA, ANNA (ANDREWS) age 94, of Purchase St., died Thursday, June 26, 2008 at the Linn Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Jeremiah P. Sousa.

Born in East Providence, Dec. 12, 1913, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Angele (Mediza) Andrews.

She is survived by her daughter, Rita E. Sousa of Dennis, MA; her sons, Jeremiah P. Sousa Jr. of Bristol, Francis R. Sousa of Dennis, MA, James J. Sousa of Dighton, MA, and William R. Sousa and Michael R. Sousa, both of Rehoboth, MA; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Joseph of East Providence.

She was the sister of the late Mary Bettencourt and Louise Andrews.

Her funeral will be Monday at 9am from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at St. Francis Xavier Church, No. Carpenter St., East Providence. Burial will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday 5-8pm.
