Antonio M. Lopes

LOPES, ANTONIO M., 67, of Harbor View Blvd., Somerset, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, after a battle with cancer. He was the husband of the late Adelia (Pais) Lopes; they were married for over 40 years before she passed away in 2006. He was born in Beira Alta Portugal, and he was the son of Ana DePina and the late Germano Lopes.

Mr. Lopes worked as a construction superintendant for the J. H. Lynch Construction Co. of Cumberland, RI for over 10 years, before retiring 8 years ago. He was a member of the Laborers Local 610.

He lived in Somerset since 1984, and prior to that was a resident of Fall River. He was a parishioner of St. John of God Church. He enjoyed gardening, horticulture, cooking and spending time with his grandchildren.

Aside from his mother, Ana DePina of Fall River, he is survived by his children: Antonio Paulo and his wife, Shaina Lopes, of Mont Vernon, NH; Elizabeth and her husband, Timothy Beason, of Falls Church, VA; Helena and her husband, Michael Beaulieu, of Tiverton, RI; and Teresa and her husband, David Lunt, of Woodbridge, CT. He was the grandfather of Krystin Rae and Michael A. J. Beaulieu, Owen and Morgan Lunt, and Forest Germano Beason. He is also survived by a sister, Maria Emilia Lopes of Fall River, and his dear friend Dina Pires of Somerset.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, December 3 at 9:00 a.m. in St. John of God Church, Brayton Ave., Somerset. Entombment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum, Fall River, MA. Calling hours and video tribute will be held Tuesday, December 2, from 5-8 p.m. at the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset, MA.
