Assunta Dowd Obituary

DOWD, ASSUNTA 'SUSAN' (BATTISTA), 72, of North Providence, passed away October 25, 2008. She was the beloved wife of Charles J. Dowd. Mr. & Mrs. Dowd have been married for 53 years.

She was the beloved mother of Dennis Battista of Glocester, Charles and Susan L. Dowd both of North Providence. Sister of Rudolph Battista of Johnston, Joseph Battista of North Providence, Dalse Gergora of Hollywood, FL and the late Albert Battista. Mrs. Dowd is also survived by 3 grandchildren.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 8:45 a.m. from 'WOODLAWN' Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mark's Church, Cranston. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. CALLING HOURS WEDNESDAY 4-8 p.m. Visit www.WoodlawnGattone.com for online condolences.

Susan and family,
I am so sorry to hear about your mom's passing. She was a wonderful woman and always made me smile. Though I only knew her for a short time, I will always remember her. Please accept my condolences.

i was about 10 yrs old when i first met sue and charlie living in an adjacent apartment on westminster st in providence. dennis was just a little guy. i have fond memories of everyone.sue was a great gal and will be missed. my prayers are with her and her family....jackie scungio
