Blanche Novak

NOVAK, BLANCHE, formerly of Naples, FL, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 19, 2015, in Pittsburgh, PA. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband John Novak after a marriage of 39 years. She was born in East Providence, RI, a daughter of the late John and Zaroohi (Der Agopian) Arzooyan. Blanche was a graduate of Bryant College and earned two masters degrees - one from Rhode Island College and one from Boston University. She taught for many years at Attleboro High School where she headed up the Business Department and was instrumental in the creation of a work-study program there. After retiring, she and her husband traveled extensively and had many wonderful experiences and met new friends. They enjoyed living in Naples after moving there from Warwick and Cape Cod. She leaves behind two sisters: Dorothy McDonald of Providence and Nancy (John) Traina of Pittsburgh, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She is a sister of the late Alice (Peter) Postoian and John (Janet) Arzooyan. She was a gentle, kind and loving person who will be missed by all who knew her. Blanche was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Naples, FL. Her Funeral will be held Saturday morning at 9:15 am from the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte.117), Coventry, with a service to follow at 10:30 am in the Chapel at the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
