Christopher Ferns Obituary
53, passed away peacefully Monday, March 1, 2021 at home. He was the beloved son of Raymond and Patricia A. (Moran) Ferns; loving brother of Erin P. Ferns and Kelly A. Ferns; loving uncle of Caden Ferns and the late Gillian Raye; loving maternal grandson of Dorothy B. (St. Onge) Moran. Chris was a graduate of Bishop Hendricken in 1985 and a graduate of New England Institute of Technology. He was a US Navy veteran and a member of the P.A.C in Cranston. He loved spending time with his loving family and many friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Friday, March 5, 2021 at 10 AM in St. Paul Church, One Saint Paul Place, Cranston. Private burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich. Visiting hours, Thursday from 4-8 PM in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Avenue, Warwick. Face masks and social distancing will be observed. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Paul Church, One Saint Paul Place, Cranston, RI 02905 or St. Jude Children Research Hospital, P.O Box 1000, Dept 142, Memphis, TN 38148, will be appreciated. Dear Ray, Pat, Erin, and Kelly,
Scott and I were so shocked and sad to hear that Chris had passed! Scott has so many funny memories of working side by side with Chris on boats for years - he knew everyone and always had a story to tell.

I was saddened to hear about Chris’ passing. Thinking of all of you in these difficult times.
The Irish have a saying “Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear.” As I type this quote I smile to myself thinking that Chris was never one to be unseen or unheard. He embraced life, always had a story to tell and always with a big smile and a great sense of humor.
I hope you feel his presence and it comforts you in the days ahead.

I am writing from Iowa to convey our collective sadness at Chris' passing. All 10 Morans here think of Chris, Erin, Kelly, Ray and Patty as being across from Uncle Charlie on a street so aptly named for five of its most important residents, Ferncrest. It made addressing Christmas cards a little more fun.
Much of our remembrance is from a generation or two ago. Still, I was lucky enough to have been joined by my wife at Chris' grandmother's centennial birthday gathering just over a year ago. We spoke about a lot of things, including his well-being.
Friday, mid-morning, my brother, mother and I will think in particular about our Rhode Island relatives and their importance in our lives. Ever-smiling Chris Ferns will lead that parade of good memories for us.

Shocked and saddened at the news of cousin Christopher’s passing. Too young He was larger than life and that Irish smile ... I’m thankful for the time growing up summers Sand Hill Cove ...and of course St Pattys day . I will hold those memories now closer to my heart to help heal the loss.
