David Francazio
1989 - 2019
Francazio, David
David Francazio, 30, of Smithfield, RI passed away on September 5th, 2019. David courageously lived a fruitful life, refusing to let his heart condition limit or define him. He is survived by his loving parents Steven and Loreen Francazio of Smithfield and grandparents Robert and Irene Gianfrocco of Cranston, as well as sister and brother-in-law Lisa and Gregory English of Erie, PA and nephews William and Sam. He was the grandson of the late Louis and Anna Francazio of N. Scituate, RI. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
David graduated from the The Wheeler School in Providence, RI before attending the honors program at Boston College. He went on to attend Duke Law school in Durham, NC.
The words generous, honest and loving were made to describe David. He had a brilliant mind and worked exhaustedly for his clients - even working while in the hospital. He always went the extra mile and did things his way - for him it was just about doing what was right. He loved his big Italian family and he especially loved sitting with them at the kitchen table to enjoy delicious food. He made everyone smile with his good-natured wit and contagious laugh. David had a fun loving nature, yet was always there to help his friends and family in any way he could. He enjoyed his garden, playing rock music on the piano, and was an avid reader with an insatiable intellectual curiosity. He loved animals, spending time in nature, and especially his childhood dog Snippi and his current rescue dogs Rosie and Pedro. This world is a better place for having David as a part of it. He touched so many lives, made us better people, and his memory will always be cherished.
His funeral mass with be held on Friday September 13th at 11:00am at Saint Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, in Greenville, RI. Those who choose to give a gift to honor David may make a donation in his name to Animal Rescue Rhode Island.

My deepest condolences to David's family and friends.

I had the privilege of having David in my Animal Law class at Duke. He had such passion and creative insights for the topics we addressed. He is a shining star and our world will be a bit less bright without him.

I had the honor of working with David over the last few years and on a day to day basis for the last year. He was a wonderful human being who made this earth a better place. His appetite for helping others will never be forgotten. He has taught so many how to be a better person. For that David, I wish you farewell and May you rest in peace for eternity. Anthony M. David was the proud founder of the WEEP Club in high school an acronym that, to my memory, stood for the World Enigmatic Environmental Problems club. In reality, David would gather about thirty people into a small room over lunch to present slide shows about the Loch Ness Monster. The meetings never failed to be the most fun part of my week. David had an incredible sense of humor, and had a gift for commanding an audience. He was funny and brilliant, and he brightened the world of those around him.

My deepest condolences to Dave's family and friends. Although I only knew Dave for a relatively short time, his friendship taught me a lot about what it meant to be an authentic person and I can't imagine what his loss must feel like for those who knew him longer. When Dave thought something was wrong, he said something regardless of who it challenged. When he had an opinion, he shared it without a second thought of what others might think. He was genuinely one of the most unique and exceptional people I met at Duke in this regard and it's a character trait I'll aspire to the rest of my life. We'll miss you, buddy.

David, thank you for taking me under your wing as I began my career. In this past year, with your guidance, I learned more than I did in law school about the practice of law. Your professional etiquette and dedication to clients are unmatched and your unwavering fearlessness is one of your many traits that I, along with others, will continue to envy. You are a remarkable attorney, an even better person, and the greatest of friends. I will continue to be a beneficiary of the everlasting impact you made on this earth. You will continue to be remembered, celebrated, and loved. Thank you, my friend.

David was a wonderful, incredibly bright, funny, decent and caring man. As I remember David I'm overwhelmingly sad, but I also smile over and over as I relive the many special memories I have of him. He was the most committed "squirmer" I ever met, and his impish smile and laugh were hilarious. He had the perfect family--his sister Lisa and his mother, Loreen were with him every step of the way. David was loved, and he always will be. We'll miss him so much.

Little Dave, as his BC friends referred to him, was possibly the most unique individual I've had the pleasure to know. He was always up to some new antic or had some peculiar thing to say that truly tickled me. My favorite being the time he wore dinosaur footy pajamas to DDQ's honors class. He was kind, crafty and such a loving soul. I will miss him. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone who was blessed to know and love him <3
