Diane Moul Obituary

MOUL, DIANE WELLINS 63, died in Providence on October 4, 2013. A bright presence who leveraged her passion for performing to inspire legions of students to love Jane Austen, Diane was an incurable optimist and unabashed ham who'd try anything, even roller skating on stage. Voted "most likely to succeed" by her Cranston West classmates, Diane earned a BA in English from Penn and an MBA from Wharton. After the birth of her daughters, she left business to earn a Ph.D. in English and become senior lecturer at Bentley University. A student wrote: "She's amazing. Take her. Take her. TAKE HER." Diane appeared frequently with The Players community theater. She married the love of her life, Andy Moul, in 1994, and the pair nurtured her daughters and a menagerie of rescued animals even an injured bee. Diane faced her cancer diagnosis with great courage and leaves behind many broken hearts who are grateful for her life and spirit: husband Andy, daughters Ricca and Samantha Gaus, mother Frankie Wellins, sister Nancy Wellins and family, cousins, friends, students, and pets. A memorial service will be held Saturday October 12 at 3 pm in the R.I. College Student Union Ballroom. Memorial donations to www.pawswatch.org for animal rescue.

Bentley Student.

November 6, 2013

As a student of Dr. Moul's at Bentley U, I was encouraged by her spirit, her faith, and her empathy. I am most sorry for the future Bentley students who will never have the chance to call her their professor.

Deepest Condolences.

I taught at Bentley with Diane 2004-2010, and she was always such a bright shining presence in the hallways and byways of that place. Such sorrow today in hearing the news, but so glad for this smile to remember. Love to her family.

So sorry to hear of Diane's passing.
We all loved and admired her on the CWest Stage in her wonderful performances as Anna in the King & I and Julie in Carousel. We will never forget what she has given us. I will always remember her as our "Lady of the Stage." And always a smile for me.

I am so sorry Michael and I were out of town and couldn't make the memorial service. I have wonderful memories of many Miss America parties, 4ths of July, New Year's Eves and Memorial Days spent together.
May your cherished memories and the love of family and friends help you find comfort.

Dear Andy
I was so sorry to read about your wife's death. I'm sorry I never met her: she sounds a very remarkable person. But I'm thinking of you; I sympathize with what you both went through and it was a shame it didn't have a better outcome
