Donald Blais Obituary
67, of Robin Lane, passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, June 6, 2021. He was the loving husband of Marilyn "Lyn" (DiMasi) Blais for 44 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Paul J. and Yola M. (Perreault) Blais. He was the father of Captain Stephen J. Blais (WWPD) and his wife Sara, and Joshua D. Blais, all of Cranston. Donald was the brother of Norman F. Blais of Coventry and the late Robert P. Blais. Donald graduated from West Warwick High School in 1971. He went on to earn a Degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson & Wales. After graduating, he was a chef at the Harborside Restaurant for several years. Donald was a Correctional Officer with the RI Department of Corrections for over 32 years before retiring in 2019. Donald loved to spend time with his family, especially his granddaughters Samantha and Grace. He also enjoyed golfing and sailing with his family and friends. His Funeral will be Friday, June 11, 2021 at 8:45 am from the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Rd., (Rte.3) Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Gregory the Great Church, Warwick. Inurnment will be private. Visiting hours are Thursday evening 4 – 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Memory of Donald can be made to The National Pancreas Foundation (www.pancreasfoundation.org). iannottifh.com
