Egisa Mooradian Obituary

MOORADIAN, EGISA "GREEK", 89, of Sarasota, FL formerly North Providence, RI died on December 24, 2011. A Military Service was held in Sarasota National Cemetery, FL. Egisa Mooradian was a proud veteran of World War II. Mr. Mooradian participated in the ground combat operations in the Rome-Arno, North Apennines, and Po Valley campaigns, earning the Combat Infantry Badge for actions under hostel fire while engaged with an enemy of the United Sates of America. Mr. Mooradian was also awarded the Purple Heart Medal for wounds sustained in combat. Survivors include his daughter Suzanne N. O'Connor, son in law Mark S. O'Connor and grandson Daniel P. O'Connor of Sarasota County, FL. Special friend Ms. Jessica Marcaccio and his little Angel "Gia". He was a lifelong member of Saints Sahag & Mesrob Armenian Church. Donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Foundation, 4899 Belfort Road, Ste. 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.

Suzanne and Mark, I am so sorry for the loss of your wonderful father. We had know idea until we read it in Sunday's paper. My heart was broken. Your dad and my father Krikor Elmasian were very good friends. They would always talk about how they were the last of the old gang, my dad turned 91 years old last November. Your father used to come over and bring us chore egg's and make us laugh, I mean, really, really, laugh. He was a hot ticket !!! My dad loved his visit's. Greek will truly be missed. Our deepest sympathy to you and your family. Your dad always spoke so highly of all of you. May his precious, wonderful, soul rest in peace.
