Elda Hand Obituary

HAND, ELDA I., 88, and RAYMOND F., 93, both of West Bay Manor, died 2 days apart at Kent County Hospital. Elda died on Saturday, October 11 and Raymond died on Monday, Oct. 13th. They had celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Valentines Day this year.

Elda was born in Providence, a daughter of the late Anthony and Angela Sylvester Lotito. She was an office worker at Aetna Life and Casualty before retiring. She was a graduate of Central High School class of 1938.

Raymond was born in Providence, a son of the late George & Rose McGovern Hand. He was an accountant for various trucking companies before retiring in 1980. He was a graduate of Bryant Collage, class of 1933.

They were Pawtucket residents for 40 years before moving to Warwick. They were long time members of the Pawtucket Country Club and communicants of St Leo the Great Church in Pawtucket.

They leave 2 daughters, Pamela Urciuoli of Lincoln and Lori Rosewell of Warwick, 3 grandchildren, Rebecca Urciuoli-Anderson, Michaela & Gregory Rosewell, 1 great grandchild, Mackenzie Anderson.

Elda was the sister of Celia Dobbins and Evelyn Rizza, both of Las Vegas and the late Dorothy Mitchell

Raymond was the brother of the late George, Paul, Clarence Hand, Mildred Lannon, Rose Harrison and Frances Perry.

According to their wishes, their bodies were donated to Brown University Medical School Anatomical Gift Program. A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, November 1st at 10:30 in St. Rose and Clements Church, 111 Long St. in Warwick to which relatives and friends are invited. Donations in their memory may be made to Alzheimers Association Research Only 225 North Michigan Avenue, 17th Floor, Chicago, IL 60601, or The Buttonhole Short Course and Teaching Center, 1 Button Hole Dr. Providence, RI

Being a waitress as West Bay Manor, Mr. and Mrs. Hand were great and pleasant people. It was always nice to come into work and see their friendly smiles and "hello's".

I am very sorry for your loss and they will be and have been greatly missed.
