Dear Mom,
How did you know how to be the greatest mother a little kid ever had? I asked for a brother and when I was 7, you produced one. You allowed us to keep every pet we ever found, while some kids couldn't have any. We never had to ask if we could have friends in, many times ours showed up when we weren't even there to spend time with you and they were always fed and welcomed. I don't remember another parent who would fill the station wagon with kids and head to the drive-in for a movie. You were always able to comfort me when my heart was broken by stroking my hair as my head lay in your lap. I could use that lap right now because my heart is broken and I don't see what is going to put it back together. I love you and will miss you forever.
