EMILIO ZANFAGNA Obituary

ZANFAGNA, EMILIO W., 84, of Johnston passed away February 7, 2010.

He was the beloved husband of Elvira (Pullano) Zanfagna and the son of the late Raphael and Adeline (D'Arezzo) Zanfagna. Mr. Zanfagna worked for United Wire for 33 years before retiring. He was also a WWII Army Veteran and an ex-POW, earning many medals including a Bronze Star and a Victory and Good Conduct Medal.

He was the father of William Zanfagna and his wife Lois; grandfather of Tara Abbruzzi and her husband Anthony, Lois Mancini and her husband Stephen and Grear Zanfagna, great grandfather of William and Raymond Simmons IV and Anthony and Michael Abbruzzi; brother of Edward Zanfagna and the late Guido, Ralph and Michael Zanfagna, Angelina DiLuglio and Phyllis Diano.

His visitation will be Wednesday 5-8 PM in the ROMANO FUNERAL HOME, 627 Union Avenue, Providence. Funeral and burial will be private. Please omit flowers. Visit www.romanofuneralhome.com

A loving husband,father & father in law,a wonderful grandfather and a "great" great-grandfather...that was my POP!we were lucky to have had so many years with him and we have so many wonderful memories.(especially me "his pumpkin")Iam just happy that my boys and my sister grear's boys were able to know Pop and make their own memories ,even if it was just for a short time. he will always be remembered and missed!especially by me!Love always Tara!
