Evelyn June Protzman

1932 - 2017

Evelyn June Protzman, 84, of Caseville, died July 19, 2017, at Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe. Evelyn was born Sept. 21, 1932, in Flint to the late John and Charlotte (Sutkay) Look. She was a 1950 graduate of Unionville High School. On Aug. 19, 1950, she married Bruce D. Protzman at Hayes United Methodist Church. Together with her husband she worked on the family's dairy farm. She was a member of the Hayes United Methodist Church, Caseville American Legion Auxiliary and former member of Tip of the Thumb Leisure ministries. She was proud of her grandchildren, always willing to talk about her family and life. She is survived by her husband Bruce; daughter Lynn (Al) Retlewski of Cadillac; son Gary (Deann) Protzman of Caseville; grandchildren Bonnie and Greg (Kathy) Retlewski, Evie (Jack) Kamphouse, Nick and Kyle (Katie) Protzman and Krista (Nick) Leipprandt; and brother David (Linda) Holzworth of Traverse City. She was preceded in death by her siblings Adeline, Ula, Marian, Evelyn, Darold, Clayton and Vera. Funeral services will be at noon Monday, July 24 at Hayes United Methodist Church with Rev. Matthew Chapman officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Elkton. Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel in Elkton.
