Frederick Eddy

EDDY, FREDERICK H. "BABE", 88, of Warwick passed away Wednesday at Brentwood Nursing Home. He was the beloved husband of Claire A. (McKenna) Eddy. They were married in 1943. Born in Warwick, he was a son of the late Warren A. and Leita E. (Hall) Eddy. Mr. Eddy was a Shipping Clerk for Leesona Corporation until his retirement. He served in The United States Army Air Corps during WW II and was awarded the Medal of Valor for bravery. He served as a volunteer in the Emergency Room at Kent Hospital for 20 years and for the East Greenwich Volunteer Fire Department for many years. Mr. Eddy was a member of American Legion Post 15 in East Greenwich. He was the loving father of Joseph F. Eddy and his wife Denise of Leesburg, FL and Sharon A. Mattera of Warwick. Caring brother of Beverly Gebler of Ashaway and the late Warren A. Eddy, Jr. Cherished grandfather of five and great grandfather of three. His Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 11:00 am in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95). Burial will follow in Elm Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours Friday, April 6, 2012 (TODAY) from 4-7 pm.
